God’s Got You in His Hand
Well now, sunshine, if you want to get yourself rollin’ straight today before life starts ‘a-zig‑zaggin. You know you gotta treat it like one of those slow country mornings. Settle yourself right down on that ‘ole porch swing with something warm as a hug from your granny, only drinkable, and then, whisper, “Lord, I sure could use Your hand today.” And before you can even say “Well, butter my biscuit,” He’s already ‘a- reachin’ out.
Acts 11:21 says, “And the hand of the Lord was with them…” That’s Bible‑speak for, “God showed up, and things went from pitiful to powerful real quick.” When His hand is on your life, it’s like havin’ the best GPS this side of Heaven. He keeps you out of ditches, reroutes you when you’re ‘a-bein’ hard‑headed, and somehow gets everybody ‘a-movin’ in the same direction without ‘a-fussin’ like cousins at a family reunion.
Now take a minute and picture God’s hand. Maybe it’s big and mighty, maybe gentle and warm like a granddaddy who can lift a tractor but still peel an orange for a toddler. If you could see that hand clearer, wouldn’t it change how you walk through your day?
Folks say all the time, “I saw God’s hand in my life!” And they don’t mean a giant hand ‘a-wavin’ from the clouds like the world’s holiest traffic cop. They mean those moments when something works out so perfect you know good and well you didn’t pull it off all by yourself. That’s Him, quiet as a church mouse, strong as a mule, and kinder than your most favorite auntie.
Those early believers in Acts knew all about it. They were scattered, scared, and ‘a-feelin’ lower than a snake’s belly in a wagon rut. But God’s hand was with ’em. And when His hand shows up, courage shows up, unity shows up, and faith starts ‘a-poppin’ like grease in a hot skillet.
And His hand still works the same today; ‘a-guidin’, ‘protectin’, ‘a-nudgin’, correctin’, and ‘a-blessin’ us even when we’re ‘a-wanderin’ around ‘a-mutterin’, “Well, I don’t know what in the world I’m ‘a-doin’.”
And when you can’t see His hand? Well, lamb chop, that’s when you trust His heart. He’s never dropped you yet.
Father, steady my heart, calm my worries, guide my steps, and help me trust Your hand even when I can’t trace it. Lead me where You want me and shape me how You need me. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
So,when life gets wilder than a rooster in a windstorm, and you can’t spot God’s hand anywhere, just remember He’s ‘a-holdin’ you tighter than a mama ‘a-grabbin’ a toddler in the Dollar Store ‘cause His hand’s ‘a-guidin’, ‘a-guardin’, and ‘a-keepin’ you steady even when everything feels messier than a possum in the pantry. Trust Him, friend. He’s never dropped you yet, and He’s not about to start now.
With joy,
Gwen
