Powered by the Spirit

Hey there, friend, come on up here and settle in real good. I am mighty pleased that you on came by here because this ol’ front porch feels a whole lot friendlier when someone else is sittin’ up here in the sunshine with me. So, now, let me tell you this here lil’ truth is plum about to land on your heart like a curious ol’ squirrel that wandered up to see what snacks you brought with you. Galatians 2:20 tells us somethin’ real breathtakin’. It says, “The old ‘us’ is gone, and Jesus Himself lives His life through us.” That there means when you walk into a room, Heaven walks right on in with you. When you speak, Christ speaks right through you. When you serve, it’s not you sweatin’ like a farmhand in July. It’s Jesus working through your willin’ hands.

That’s why 2 Corinthians 5:20 calls us Christ’s ambassadors. We represent Him everywhere we go, even when we feel more like a confused chicken that wandered out of the coop than a polished representative of the King. And Jesus said in John 14:12 that those who believe in Him would do the works He did and even greater ones. Now that there verse has made more folks scratch their heads than a hound dog with a flea problem. But Jesus sure wasn’t exaggeratin’. He knew the Holy Spirit was comin’ to live inside believers, which meant His ministry wouldn’t end. It would multiply and keep right on growin’.

Paul would sure enough understand this better than anyone. In 2 Corinthians 2:14 he said, “God spreads the fragrance of Christ through us.” That there plum means that even when you git to feelin’ like a muddy lil’ piglet that just rolled through the barnyard, God is still usin’ you to make Jesus known. And in 2 Timothy 4:17 Paul said, “The Lord stood with him and strengthened him so the message could be preached fully through him.” That’s not Paul braggin’. That’s Paul sayin’, “It wasn’t me. It was Christ in me.”

And Philippians 2:13 ties it all together sayin’, “For it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure.” Friend, that there means the pressure is off. You’re not the power source. You’re the vessel. You’re not the engine. You’re the pipe the water flows through. Christ lives in you. Christ works through you. Christ shines from you.

Father, make me a vessel You can flow through. Let Your Spirit speak through me, love through me, and work through me. Help me remember that it is not about my strength but Yours. Reproduce the life of Jesus in me today. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Alright, then, friend, as you go throughout the rest of your day today, remember this. You’re not some lost lil’ ol’ calf wanderin’ around in the pasture just out there hopin’ that someone notices you. You’re not a jittery lil’ ol’ raccoon that’s tryin’ to figure out which trash can to tip over and meddle in. You just ain’t no tired ol’ mule pulling a load you were never meant to be carryin’. You are a Spirit‑filled ambassador of Christ, carrying the life of Jesus Christ right inside you. Hold your head up high and walk in the joy of the great blessing of being someone who truly knows the Almighty God of Heaven and Earth is workin’ His supernatural plan and purpose right through every step you take.
