Never Left, Never Lost, Never Late
Well, now, friend, come on over here and settle yourself before that bumblebee circlin’ your head decides you look just like a sunflower. We are about to stroll right into a truth sturdier than a fence post planted in cement by a farmer who meant business. Life has a way of tossin’ us around like a confused turkey in a windstorm. One minute you are ‘a‑standin’ tall, and the next you are ‘a‑wonderin’ if the Lord took a coffee break and forgot to clock back in. I have been there. I have asked the same questions. “God, where are You?” “Do You see me?” “Are You doin’ anything at all, or am I just out here flappin’ like a rooster who overslept?”
Feelings will do that to you. They will run wild like a goat that found an open gate. Doubt, fear, and anxiety start ‘a‑whisperin’, and before you know it, you are listenin’ to them more than you are listenin’ to what God already said. And what He said in Hebrews 13:5 tells us just what we need to know saying, “Never will I leave you. Never will I forsake you.” This scripture makes it quite clear enough to carve into a real deep inscription into a thick barn door. He will never leave you. He will never forsake you. Not on your good days. Not on your messy days. Not even on the days you feel like a raccoon that got trapped in a trash can.
Second Timothy 1:7 reminds us that fear and timidity do not come from God. If you are feelin’ scared, jittery, or about as confident as a possum tryin’ to cross a busy road, that is not the Holy Spirit talkin’. The Spirit brings power, love, and self‑discipline. He brings peace that settles deeper than a hound dog nappin’ in the shade.
So, here is the choice, friend. You can tiptoe into the future like a nervous rabbit ‘a‑listenin’ for every twig snap, or you can walk forward with confidence, hope, and faith. You already know the truth. Your Heavenly Father will never leave you nor forsake you. Not now. Not next week. Not next year.
Father, thank You for stayin’ close even when my feelings try to tell me otherwise. Strengthen my faith. Calm my fears. Help me trust Your presence in every season. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Now, friend, as you head back into your day like a beaver ‘a‑tryin’ to remember where it left its favorite stick, hold this notion real tight that God is not goin’ anywhere. His presence is stronger than any fear you face. His promise is steadier than a cow headin’ for the feed trough at the honking of the pick-up horn signaling feeding time. And you can walk into the future knowin’ you are never, ever alone ‘cause there is no place you can ever go that God is not already there!.
With joy,
Gwen
