Keep Your Faith
Start your day with faith in your heart and a prayer on your lips, friend. When you do, the Lord has a way of giving you just the strength you need for whatever’s waiting down the road.
Life’s full of crossroads: little ones, big ones, and those that make you sit on the edge of your bed and say, “Lord… now what?” Scripture tells us there’s “a time for everything” (Ecclesiastes 3:1) and tucked in that truth is this: sometimes God says, “Wait,” and sometimes He says, “Move.”
Israel learned that lesson the hard way. They were hemmed in between the Red Sea and Pharaoh’s army, and Moses kept praying like it was a “be still” moment. But God said, “Why are you crying out to Me? Tell the people to get moving!” (Exodus 14:15–16). In other words: “Moses, this ain’t a parking spot! This is a green light!”
Waiting on God is holy, but procrastinating out of fear isn’t. Waiting means praying, listening, preparing, and trusting. Procrastinating is just hiding behind spiritual language because you’re scared to take a step.
Sometimes God really does say, “Be still and know that I am God” (Psalm 46:10). If your heart feels unsettled, doors keep slamming shut, or you haven’t spent time in prayer or the Word, it might be a season to pause and let Him steady your spirit.
But other times, God nudges you forward. Maybe you’ve prayed for healing in your marriage; now it’s time to change how you speak and act. Maybe you’ve prayed to forgive someone; now it’s time to actually forgive. Maybe you’ve prayed for a loved one’s salvation; now it’s time to lovingly share the gospel.
Faith isn’t just waiting; sometimes it’s walking. Abraham stepped out without knowing where he was going. Peter stepped out onto water. And God met them both in motion.
When the Lord leads, make your move. When He says wait, rest in Him. Either way, stay close enough to hear His voice.
Lord, teach me when to be still and when to step forward. Give me peace in the waiting and courage in the moving. Let every choice be guided by Your timing, not my fear. Keep me close to You in every season. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
May God’s promises light your path today!
With joy,
Gwen
