You are a Walking Blessing

Well land sakes, friend, look at you strollin’ up on this ol’ front porch like a curious lil’ ol’ possum that finally decided to act civilized. Come on up here and make sure that you mind that ol’ rooster over yonder that thinks it’s runnin’ the police department around here. Now, hurry up and grab yourself a good rocker and let the breeze settle your thoughts because we’re gonna be wanderin’ into a truth that can lift your spirit higher than a lil’ barn swallow catchin’ a warm updraft.

And the Lord was with Joseph, and he was a prosperous man” is what Genesis 39:2 tells us. And Deuteronomy 28:13 says, “The Lord will make you the head and not the tail. You shall only go up and not down.” God just ain’t subtle. When He places His hand on someone, blessin’s start spillin’ out and flowin’ like grain from a busted ol’ feed sack.

Joseph sho’-nuff’ proved that. Everywhere he went, blessin’s followed him like a loyal hound dog that plum refuses to leave its owner’s side. The Lord blessed the Egyptian’s house, the field, the work, the whole operation, simply because Joseph showed up. That there’s what happens when God’s presence rests on an ordinary person who trusts Him. You become a walkin’, talkin’, two‑legged delivery system of divine goodness.

And, friend, Scripture says you’re not ordinary. You’re a chosen person, a royal priesthood, and a holy nation on a mission. 2 Corinthians 2:14 says, “Thanks be to God, who in Christ always leads us in triumph, and through us spreads the fragrance of the knowledge of Him everywhere.” You’re the aroma of Christ. You carry His hope into dark places the way a glowin’ lantern carries light into a shadowy barn.

So, don’t be belittlin’ yourself because of a weakness. God delights in usin’ folks that feel real small. You’re the totality of God’s good blessin’s on two legs. When you walk into a room, real blessin’s have arrived. When you speak, encouragement plum lands. When you serve, God’s goodness spreads like wildflowers bloomin’ after a spring rain.

Father, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, thank You that I am more than blessed. I am a blessing to anyone who comes near me. Let the aroma of Christ fill every place I step. In Jesus’ namd, Amen.

Well, butter my biscuit and pass me some of that good buttermilk, friend, I’m so glad you decided to be stoppin’ by here today. As you head back into your day, carry yourself like a bright lantern wanderin’ through a sleepy valley, bringin’ warmth to every cold corner. Let your presence settle into places the way fresh rain settles into thirsty soil, quiet but life‑givin’. Let your joy rise up like a lil’ meadow lark that greets the mornin’ with a song whether anyone is listenin’ or not. And remember when your feet touch a place, God’s goodness just arrived with ‘em. Now go on, friend, and leave a trail of blessin’s behind you like breadcrumbs for somebody who sho’-nuff’ needs hope.

With joy,

Gwen
