He is Faithful
Some days the world feels like a bucking bronco, and you’re just hanging on for dear life. On those days, whisper this to your soul: Be faithful. Be courageous. His grace is enough. Not “barely enough,” like the last scoop of peanut butter in the jar. Why, His grace is overflowing, sloshing over the sides, more than you could ever use up.
The apostle John saw Jesus in all His glory and did what any of us would do. He fell flat on his face like a fainting goat.
And what did Jesus do? Put a steady hand on him and said, “Don’t be afraid. I’m the First and the Last” (Revelation 1:17-18). Translation: “I was here before your problems started, and I’ll be here long after they’re gone.”
Think about it. History has had its share of big names: kings, conquerors, philosophers, folks with statues and holidays. But only one walked out of His own grave. Mohammed? Still in his. Buddha? Still in his. Confucius? Same story. Jesus borrowed a tomb for the weekend, and then, He returned it early, no scratches, no mileage.
But He didn’t just shape history; He shapes your afternoon. He answers prayers whispered through tears. He hands out peace like peppermints. He strengthens you when your tank is emptier than a gas station at midnight. He even prays for you when you can’t find the words. That’s not just a Savior. That’s a Savior who knows, for instance, the exact ingredients in your unique coffee order. Fact is, He knows you.
So, pause a moment. How has He touched your life this week? This year? Since the day you first met Him? His fingerprints are everywhere if you look closely.
Heavenly Father, thank You for Jesus, my hope, my strength, my steady place to stand. Thank You for the ways He has carried me, calmed me, and changed me. Help me remember Your faithfulness and live in a way that reflects His love. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
Take a little time today, friend, to think on all the ways He’s shown up for you. It’s amazing how fast gratitude grows when you give it a place to sit. And don’t forget what Jesus promised in John 14:26, “The Helper, the Holy Spirit, will bring back to your mind everything He’s taught you.” So, as you’re sittin’ there rememberin’, He’s right there nudginin’ your heart, whisperin’ reminders of God’s faithfulness. There is no fear involved here. Let those memories settle in and steady you for whatever comes next.
With joy,
Gwen
